Як впливає димова тяга на процес горіння

Draft is the phenomenon of suction; the exhaust from the boiler to the chimney outlet. The greater the temperature difference between the gases at the boiler outlet and the outside environment, the greater the draft will be.

The right draft is vital for good combustion!
If the draft is too low, the flue gases are not removed efficiently to the outside. Smoke gets inside the room, it is difficult to start a fire, and the fuel does not burn completely. Incomplete combustion can be the cause of carbon monoxide, which is dangerous to life and health.
If the draft is too strong, it can cause too fast and inefficient combustion of fuel. In this case, the boiler will not use its full capacity.

Why can the draft disappear?
too small cross-section of the fireplace; the narrower the chimney, the less draft;

Poor technical condition of the fireplace; the more uneven its inner surface (unevenly laid bricks, bends, curvature), the greater the risk of weakening the draft. In addition, soot deposits, which cause narrowing and difficult passage of gases, are also a common cause of an explosion or fire in the chimney.

With a downward flow of wind and the formation of turbulence in the immediate vicinity of the chimney, high pressure zones can form, which impedes the proper functioning of the flue duct and can lead to the ingress of flue gases into the house. A side wind causes a decrease in pressure in the chimney, which can lead to a sharp increase in draft.

For efficient operation of the solid fuel boiler, follow these recommendations.
